If you are taking a course within a Blackboard platform, you will find everything you need in one centralized access point. Inside the course, you will discover a tool called Smowl Proctoring Tool.
If you can't locate it, try checking in the course's books and tools section.
What can I find in my SMOWL course tool?
Once inside, you will encounter a panel that provides everything necessary before undertaking your activities.
From here, you can:
Access the registration process in SMOWL. If you are already registered, it will be marked in green.
Download and install the browser extension.
By default, for any activity, you need to have our browser extension installed. Our browser extension is only compatible with Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Opera.
It is not compatible with other browsers such as Safari or Mozilla Firefox.
Download the SMOWL CM computer monitoring tool.
This tool monitors your computer during activities, tracking the programs you open or the websites you visit. It is an additional plugin available for download if your course administrators require it.
Access our help center, where you will find all the necessary information on how you will be monitored or how to address common concerns.
How will my supervised exam be?
Before starting the exam, verify that you have everything needed. Once you access it, you will see a blue box similar to the one shown below.
This box appears by default in one corner of your exam, and you can move it freely to a less obtrusive location on the exam page.
