Now that you have completed the integration and training, you are ready to start your first exam monitored by SMOWL.

This exam can be conducted as a mock test or directly as a real assessment. However, we always recommend conducting a test exam with users before proceeding with a real assessment. This will ensure that all participants are familiar with the tool and that the process runs smoothly.

4.1. Initial Deployment:

Start the process of registering students for the monitored exam. Registration can be conducted at a separate event before the exam, if you consider it convenient. For this, we recommend using your internal communication channels where you can include the registration guide and the established deadlines.

Alternatively, students can register on the same day of the exam.

4.2. Mockup Exam:

We recommend organizing a mandatory mockup test exam for all students, which will not impact their final assessment.

This mock exam will allow users to register in a single event, and at the same time, they can familiarize themselves with the SMOWL environment while checking that their equipment and settings are compatible with the tool.

For this, we recommend using your internal communication channels where you can include the registration guide and "My First Exam with SMOWL" along with the established deadlines.

Here’s an example of how to proceed:

  • Create a course called SMOWL

  • Enroll participants in the course

  • Send communication with the scheduled instructions and established deadlines

    • Announce the registration

  • Create the activities

    • You can include questions related to the functioning of SMOWL:

      • Did you accept camera permissions in the browser?

      • Have you installed and run CM or LOCK correctly?

      • Read this text (explain what monitoring will apply: camera, computer, or lock) and explain in your own words what you understood in this box.

  • Configure the type of monitoring for each activity

  • Announce the exam
